Ali Asaria

Ali Asaria left a position at Research in Motion in 2006 to found what would soon be known as Canada’s largest online health and wellness store, Well.ca. Well.ca has since become one of Canada’s fastest growing tech start-ups, recently receiving the Deloitte Tech Fast 50 Companies-to-Watch Award in Fall 2011. Ali’s technical background as a computer engineer is rapidly helping him to achieve his dream: to make Well.ca the online shopping destination for Canadians from coast to coast.

Michael Litt

Michael Litt is the co-founder/CEO of Vidyard – an online video platform designed to help businesses optimize their video based marketing spend. Prior to Vidyard, Michael was the sole proprietor of a popular blog that focused on the dis-assembly of popular consumer electronics. After identifying the se-case for online video in this blog, he built Redwoods Media, a content production company that opened the doors to technical innovation in the video space.

George Babu

George Babu is responsible for Finance & Corporate Development at Rypple. Prior to joining Rypple, George spent the last several years working on a variety of technology and intellectual property-related projects with both Research in Motion (RIM) and Bereskin & Parr, one of Canada’s leading IP law firms. George holds a B.A.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering, a JD and MBA degree, all from the University of Toronto.

Michael Hyatt

Michael Hyatt is CEO and Co-Founder of BlueCat Networks and a recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40™ Award. Michael is a weekly business commentator on CBC Newsworld and guest-hosts CBC’s The Lang and O’Leary Exchange. He has been featured on the cover of Canadian Business Magazine and was a finalist in Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. BlueCat Networks is a four-time winner of “Deloitte’s Fast 50”, winner of Red Herring’s Top 50 Private Companies, and was named CIX’s Canada’s Hottest Innovative Company . Michael also co-founded Dyadem, a highly successful Canadian software company that was acquired by IHS (NYSE: IHS).

Gabriel Chan

Gabriel Chan is the Co-Founder of NoteWagon, a website that helps students get cash for their notes or get notes for their class. The service has tens of thousands of users from universities all over North America. NoteWagon was received quite a bit of press recently including Mashable, Huffington Post, and CBC’s Dragon’s Den. Gabriel’s background is in Systems Design Engineering and his passion is in building businesses.

 

Jason Kemp

Director of Social Media at TeamBuy.ca, one of the fastest growing e-commerce platforms in the country. They’ve appeared on everything from The Dragon’s Den to small tech blogs covering the space. A junkie for all things social who loves to learn about the past, present, and future of this industry.

Bobby Umar

With a background in brand marketing, engineering and the performing arts, Bobby draws on his diverse 20-year career to lead Raeallan, a transformational training and speaking company. Thousands of people across Canada have experienced Bobby’s team-building activities, keynote presentations and coaching. Major clients include TD Canada Trust, TELUS and Kraft, as well as McMaster, Ryerson and York universities.

 

Ivan Yuen

Ivan Yuen is CTO and a co-founder of Wattpad, the online community for readers and writers to discover and share stories. Ivan has been a part of tech start-ups in Toronto for the past decade with a focus on internet and mobile. He is passionate about building fun and useful things people can use everyday.

 

Boris Chan

Boris Chan is a Principal at Xtreme Labs, leading product development and innovation efforts. His work with startups and big brands has been featured in major publications like the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and TechCrunch. Known around Canada as a respected mobile expert, he has been nominated as Developer of the Year by the Canadian New Media Awards and is a regular speaker on mobile, social and passion at events like TEDxYouth@Toronto, ATOMiC and FITC Mobile.

Eric Giguere

Eric is one of the leaders of Google’s mobile shopping initiatives, which include Google Product Search, Google Shopper, Google Wallet and Google Offers. In this role, he explores mobile- and tablet-related technologies with the goal of providing consumers a better online shopping experience. Prior to joining Google in 2011, he worked as a software engineer and development manager for an enterprise-focused software vendor, focusing on development tools and mobile application development tools and frameworks.

Oscar Guerrero 

As he finishes his Software Engineering bachelor at McGill, Oscar is involved in the student entrepreneur scene in Montreal.  He recently became an Academic Developer Evangelist for Microsoft Canada. During his stay in Redmond, Oscar focused on improving cross-media and game relevancy for search on the Xbox 360. Now, he never lets a chance go by without asking “Do you bing on your Xbox?”

Chris Ye

Chris Ye is the CEO and cofounder at Uken Games. After university, he teamed up with Mark Lampert to build highly addictive mobile/social games. He has led Uken through the launch of 8 titles, across multiple platforms, achieving millions of monthly active users. He’s passionate about growing Uken into a leader in the mobile gaming space.
