About Us

EPIC is a group of students who believe in the potential of the new generation to do epic things. More than just an organization, EPIC is a platform that serves students interested in exploring technology and ideas.

Why technology? EPIC has the strong belief that technology is critical to progress. As the founding president Jaclyn Konzelmann, a graduate of mechatronics engineering at the University of Waterloo, explained, “We realized that we loved discussing technology and how it can be used to solve modern problems. Our meetings are always fun events where we watch the latest tech demos and discuss the newest tech startups. Wanting more, we launched EPIC this summer [2009] to Educate, Promote, Inspire, and Connect students with a passion for technology.” While the direction of EPIC has changed as a new team of student leaders take control, the organization still has a strong attachment to it’s roots in technology.

EPIC aims to become a place where industry and students come to find helpful resources for learning, recruitment, self-improvement, and inspiration.

Currently, the group is focusing on connecting employers with the untapped talent mine that is the undergraduate student population.
